Leaving Las Vegas
Bathroom
Oh, no, not again! At least we have our memory intact this time. Sadly, it's not a great memory to have. Turns out our old buddy Joe Siegel owed $112,000 to a Las Vegas mobster named Tony Malone. Since you were around when he was killed, you're blamed and tasked (under threat of bodily harm) with finding the missing funds. Guess we'd better put our amazing detective skills to the test.
You can Open the Trench Coat and Take the Gum if you really want to, but this doesn't do anything useful. Close the Trench Coat and then Take it. Now Open the Pants, and Take the Key1 and Wallet1 inside. Close the Pants, and then Take them.
Open the Wallet1. Take the Newsclip1, 25 Cents, 10 Dollar, 1 Dollar, a second 1 Dollar, and the License1. The money combines itself, which is nice of it to do. Examine the License1 and the Newsclip1 to start to fill out your Address Book with the Addison and Peoria addresses. You'll also notice that that the Newsclip1 is folded. Go ahead and Open the Newsclip1, then Take the Newsclip2 you find inside. Examine this newly acquired Newsclip2 to see a photo with you and your old sparring partner, Rudy Kowalski.
You can Take the Towel in here, but that doesn't do anything. Open the door and Move through.
Hotel Room
You have a brief conversation with Stogie, a goon working for Malone. Take the Cigar Ring1 he leaves behind. You can Open the little table beside the bed to find Paper1, but this doesn't tell you anything we don't already know, so only grab this if you like full pockets. Take the Timetable sitting on top of the dresser. Examine it to get the address for the Chicago train station. You can also Open the Timetable to see the list of fares to other cities. We only have $12 right now, so we can't afford to leave Vegas yet.
There's one more thing to do in here. Use the Trench Coat and the Pants on Self to put on some clothes. Now use your Move Map to Open the door on the left and Move out.
Hotel 1F
You can wander around the different hotel floors if you want to, but there's nothing useful you can do at this time. Open the door under the giant Casino sign and Move through.
Casino Lobby
You can Take the Dish on the table, but you can't do anything with it. Move to the left.
Cashier Station
Use your $12 on the cashier, and you'll be told that you can exchange $5 for 1 Chip. Go ahead and get yourself 2 Chips. Now Move to the left.
Blackjack Table
The objective here is to get some money. We need at least $40 to travel to and from Chicago, but the more the merrier. Use your Chips on the table to get started. There are two ways we can win money here. The first is the traditional way, in other words just play Blackjack. For those that are unfamiliar with the game, you can Speak with the dealer and tell him you don't know how to play for some instructions. If you lose all your money while doing this, just wander around the desert outside the Casino until you randomly stumble across $10.
Frustrated with the cards you're being delt? No worries, there's a way to finesse the deck, so to speak. You may have noticed that the dealer is wearing an enormous name tag. If you Examine it, you'll see that his name is Rudy Kowalski. Hey, we know that name! Use the Newsclip2 on him, and he'll be happy you remember who he is and do you a favor. Once you have him on your side, you can win almost every hand by drawing a new card until you hit 21. Note the "almost." Don't bet all your Chips, because there's still a chance you can lose. But you can safely bet half each time, up to 10 Chips. You can keep going as long as you want, but eventually Rudy will announce that if he keeps letting you win he'll be in trouble. By the time this happens, you'll have more money than you could possibly need to beat the game.
Once you're done gambling, Move back to the Cashier Station.
Cashier Station
Exchange your Chips for dollar bills, then Move into the Casino Lobby.
Casino Lobby
Move down to exit the Casino.
Casino Entrance
The area around this building is mostly desert. As mentioned earlier, you can wander around the wasteland for a random 10 Dollar bill. Spend too much time out here, and you'll encounter a Lemonade Stand mirage, and then eventually die. Instead of any of that, just Move one screen to the right.
Outside Las Vegas Station
You're outside the local train station. Open the doors and move inside.
Las Vegas Station
There's a guy sitting on the bench. You can Speak with him if you want, but he's not remotely helpful right now. You can approach the different tracks right now and try to find the right train, but the best course of action is to Move to the right.
Vegas Baggage Claim
The luggage checker is asleep, so he's not going to be of much help at the moment. Take the Pamphlet located nearby. Open it to learn how to read the train schedule. That new knowledge safely tucked away in your brain, Look at the board hanging on the wall. See which tracks have a train to Chicago either Inbound, Arrived, or Boarding. Move back to the main Las Vegas Station room.
Las Vegas Station
There are four room at the top of the screen you can Move into. From left to right, they are Track 6, Track 7, Track 8, and Track 9. Move to the track the board listed as a Chicago train Inbound, Arrived, or Boarding.
Vegas Track
Move into the train.
Vegas Train
You'll be greeted by the conductor. Use your Dollars on him to buy a ticket, then Move around or Look at things until the train leaves the station.
Forward to the Mean Streets of Chicago
