Solve the Case

Vegas Train Track

Make your way to the Baggage Claim area.

Baggage Claim

Use the Claim Ticket on the attendant, and he'll unveil a Suitcase that belonged to Bondwell. Open it to find…Laundry2. Joy.

Open the clothing, then Take the Photo and Envelope1 you find inside. Examine the Photo to see a picture of Siegel posing in front of Reliant Cleaners with an unknown person. Our mystery man has a monogramed hankey that says "D.V." Interesting…who could this be? Open the Envelope1 and Take the Letter1.

Examine the Letter1 to see that it's from Bondwell, and he's filling our pal Tony Malone in on some sketchy plot. After Joey's death, Bondwell went through his records and found that the payoff he was delivering to the cops weren't recorded. He further says that D.V. runs things pretty tight, and might be keeping something from Malone. Sounds like that guy Joey was photographed with is the one who misdirected the $112,000 that Malone is planning on taking out of our hide. Might be time to pay a visit to Reliant Cleaners.

If you want, you can head to the main station room and talk to the guy sitting on the bench. He sells Batteries (aka Cells) for your Flashlight and Bullets. Leave the station.

Outside Vegas Train Station

You may have found the Cleaners earlier if you were wandering around in the desert. From here you can just move to the left a bunch of screens to find it, but it's locked up tight and there's no way for you to get in. Instead, make your way to the Hotel 1F.

Hotel 1F

Open the Elevator on the left and Move inside.

Elevator

Hit the button for the third floor, then Move out once the ride stops.

Hotel 3F

If you examine the strange box on the floor, you'll see that it belongs to Reliant Cleaners. Open the lid, then Move inside. Close the lid, then Examine stuff until you feel the laundry basket being picked up. After a long car ride, the lid is opened up.

Cleaners Basement

Two goons will rough you up a bit, and then take anything out of your pockets that might incriminate D.V. Not great, but at least they left you alive. You're tied up, but you can Use the rope binding your hands on the crate to the left to saw yourself free. I know you're inclined to explore and grab all of the useless inventory you can, but actions are limited right now so tamp down that urge. Move upstairs.

Cleaners

Open the door on the left, then return to the Basement.

Cleaners Basement

Move back into the laundry basket. Examine stuff a few times until you hear the goons return. They'll notice that you're gone, but assume you ran out the opened front door. Your quick thinking has saved the day! Move out of the basket. You can Take the Soap Box above the washing machine, and Open it to Take the Detergent, but these don't do anything. Move upstairs again.

Cleaners

We have as much time as we want now that Moose and Spike aren't patrolling the building. Open the end of the counter to lift it up, then Open the door behind it to Move through.

D.V. Office

There's a framed photo on the desk, known as a Stand in inventory terms. Examine it to see Malone posing with someone you don't recognize. Also a note that he'll always trust Danny V. Well, as least we have a first name. Wait, actually we have more than that! You remember that Danny Ventini is Malone's right hand man. So Malone's number two is skimming some money off the top, eh? Well if we can't get the money back, we'll have to figure out a way to safely inform Malone.

Open the desk to find the Box3. Open that to find a Button, which you will need to Take. Once you have the Button, head back to the Hotel's Elevator.

Elevator

Use the Button on the floor selection panel to add a fourth floor option. The elevator automatically moves once the Button has been installed, so just Move out when it reaches the top floor.

Hotel 4F

Two office doors, labeled with Tony Malone and Danny Ventini. We're at the heart of this criminal empire now, time to get out from under this phony theft allegation. There's nothing you can do with the big boss' office right now, so Open and Move through the door on the left.

Ventini's Office

Open the desk and take the Key6 and Record1. You can also Take the Opener and the Paperbag, but they don't do anything (unless you want to eat the Sandwich inside the Paperbag). Open the Record1 to take a look at what's in it. It's a list of payments from Ventini to Malone, and the Chicago page matches the payments listed in the Diary…with the notable exclusion of payments made to No. 0. This confirms that Ventini was hiding payments from Malone, and working to muscle in on his business in Chicago.

There's a paperweight shaped vaguely like a bird sitting on the desk. If you Hit the Weight, the top part will fall off and you'll have a Dart. Now where have we seen someplace where a Dart would come in handy…

Make your way back to the Elevator.

Elevator

Before you do anything, Take the Button that you installed earlier. Now Hit the button for the first floor, then Move out and make your way to Outside Cleaners

Outside Cleaners

Everything's locked back up again. Use Key6 on the side door, the Move inside and work your way back to the office.

D.V. Office

Use the Dart on the dartboard, then Move through the newly-opened secret door.

Secret Office

Open the desk and you'll find all the stuff those two goons stole from you! Take back the Photo and Letter1. Take and Open the Record2, and you'll see that it's a copy of the Record1, except that it contains the payments to No. 0. Ace will now come to the same realization that we did earlier, and notice that they extra payments add up to $112,000. You know for sure that you'll never be able to recover that money, so the only recourse left is to make sure Malone knows what's going on.

If you really want to, you can also Take the Paper2 and the Banana, but they serve no purpose. Same deal with the Desk Mat on top of the desk. Before we go anywhere else, make sure to Leave either the Cigar Ring1 or Cigar Ring2 on the desk. This will make Ventini think that Malone sent Stogie to raid his office. We are so sneaky! Make your way back to Hotel 4F.

Hotel 4F

This time Open and Move through the door on the right.

Malone's Office

Now to alert the big boss man about Ventini's little side hustle. The goal here is to Use a few items with the desk in order to plant evidence against Ventini. There are three key items you need to leave here, and if you miss any of them then your plan won't work. If you leave too many things here, the evidence gets muddled and your plan fails. You can leave a couple other things without consequence, like the Bank Slips, but if you toss in the Record1 then you'll end up dead. I haven't done super extensive testing, but to be safe only Use the key items of the Diary, Letter1, and Letter3 with the desk. Head back to the Elevator.

Elevator

Take the Button, then Hit the lobby button to descend. Make your way Outside Casino.

Outside Casino

There are two paths toward the ending, assuming you left the correct evidence in Malone's desk:

Once you make a clean escape, just Enjoy the ending!
